Participating in a Quasi-Judicial Public Hearing

Many Planning & Zoning applications, including variances, conditional uses, site plans, and certain rezoning requests, are considered through a quasi-judicial public hearing. These hearings follow legal procedures that differ from a typical public meeting.

If you plan to attend or speak at a quasi-judicial hearing, we encourage you to review the Town's Resident's Guide to the Quasi-Judicial Process. The guide explains:

  • What a quasi-judicial hearing is.
  • How decisions are made.
  • What types of testimony may be considered.
  • How residents can effectively participate in the hearing process.
