FREE Car Seat Check

  • 3rd Friday and Saturday

Prepare for Appointment

  • Install the child car seat yourself if possible
  • Bring the manuals for both the seat and the vehicle
  • Determine child’s current weight and height
  • Move any unnecessary objects out of the vehicle and its trunk
  • Expect to be at the appointment for apprx. 30 min
  • Bring toys/activities to keep kids busy
  • Wear casual, comfortable clothes that will allow you to assist in installation

Attend Appointment

  • The car seat will be removed from the vehicle to ensure its proper function
  • Check to see if seat has ever been recalled
  • Discussion on best placement and installation method
  • Learn how to adjust the seat as the child grows, how to install the seat, and how to properly restrain the child in the car seat, booster, or seat belt
  • Discuss next steps and additional safety concerns
  • Ask questions and get take-home information
