Police Department

The Police Department is responsible for all law enforcement and public safety of Town residents and businesses including 24-hour/7 days per week officer patrol, traffic enforcement, neighborhood checks, dispatch services and school crossing guards.

Message from the Chief:

Welcome to the Orange Park Police Department.

It is my honor to serve as your Chief of Police and to lead the dedicated men and women of this department. Every member of our agency is committed to serving our community with integrity, professionalism, and compassion. We recognize that policing is more than responding to calls for service, it is about building trust, solving problems, and going above and beyond to serve our residents and visitors.

Our mission is simple: To preserve the peace, protect life and property and promote public safety while upholding the Constitution. These principles guide every decision we make and every interaction we have with the public.

About Chief Monroe:

Cody Monroe has served with the Orange Park Police Department since 2007, holding positions as a Patrol Officer, Patrol Corporal, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Administrative Lieutenant, and Assistant Chief of Police, before being appointed as the Chief of Police on June 2, 2026.

Cody served on the Clay County SWAT team for 12 years, rising to the role of Team Leader. Over his career he has also served various other roles with OPPD such as Public Information Officer, Body Worn Camera Program Coordinator, Firearms and Less Lethal Instructor, Active Assailant Response instructor and more. He currently serves on several boards including Jacksonville's Urban League Youth Crime Prevention Board, St. Johns River Standards and Training Commission Board, and advisory board member for the Signal 35 Fund in Clay County. Cody holds a Bachelor's and Master’s Degree from American Military University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy’s 280th Session.
