Gary Meeks was elected to Council Seat 5 on March 9, 2010 for a 3 year term and is currently serving as the Town's Mayor. Prior to serving on the Council, Gary served on various Town Committee's and Boards.
After serving in the United States Navy, and returning from Vietnam, Gary began his service to the Town of Orange Park as a member of our Police Department retiring in 1989 as Captain/Assistant Chief. Since his retirement, Gary has been employed by YRC Worldwide, Inc., a Transportation and Logistics Company, in Security Management.
Gary and his wife, Patricia, an Orange Park native, are members of the Orange Park United Methodist Church, and enjoy spending time camping and traveling.
Gary is a graduate of Paxon High School in Jacksonville, attended the FBI National Academy, Florida State College and the University of North Florida, majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Administration.
